A: For local moves, the cost of the move is based on the number of hours it takes to complete the move. Please see the Services page of our web site for our hourly rates (keep in mind that 2nd and 3rd floor apartments and/or inconvenient loading/unloading spots for our truck will take the movers longer and add more time to the bill). For long distance moves, we can give you a guaranteed, set price for your move ahead of time. Estimates for local and long distance moves are free.
Q: In calculating the bill, when does the move time start and end?
A: The move time starts when our movers arrive at the first address and start to load the truck. The move time ends after the truck has been unloaded at the move destination, and all tools, blankets and dollies have been loaded back into the truck.
Q: What types of payment do you accept?
A: We accept local checks, Visa and Mastercard payments or cash. Payment is due on completion of the move. For long distance moves, payment is due upon arrival at the unloading address, and payments made by check must be certified.
Q: How far in advance do I need to schedule the move with your company?
A: Call us at least two weeks before your move. However, the first of the month and the end of the month are busy times for us, as well as every day through the summer months. You should call as soon as possible to schedule a move during those times.
Q: Do you offer packing services and supplies?
A: Yes. For local moves, packing is billed based on our hourly rates plus the cost of supplies. For long distance moves, the price for packing is added to the estimate plus the cost of supplies.
Q: Do you offer storage? A: Yes. We offer storage at reasonable rates. We also offer mobile storage units, if needed.
Q: Do I need to empty dresser drawers to prepare for my move?
A: No. Anything breakable must be removed and packed, but clothing, linens and unbreakable items can stay in drawers. Files can stay in file cabinets, but please lock the drawers to prevent them from opening during the move.
Q: Will the movers take beds apart?
A: Yes. Anything we must take apart to move will be reassembled. Except for gas appliances, we can disconnect and reconnect washers, dryers and icemakers, if necessary to move them. If the icemaker cutoff is under the house, please disconnect it prior to moving day. You must inspect all hook ups before using appliances after the move.
Q: Are your movers insured?
A: Yes, an insurance certificate can be sent to you at your request.
